BE A SMART STUDENT
We
always pray Lord Ganesha before we start any Good work. He is also called as ‘Buddhidata’.
We
all are aware of a very famous story of Lord Ganesha.
Lord
Shiva and Devi Parvati were sitting in Himalaya. Lord Ganesha and his brother
Kartikeya Swami were playing around. Kartikeya Swami asked his mother, “Please
let me know who is best, Myself or Ganesha?
Lord
Shiva and Devi Parvati smiled and said, “We will give one task to both of you.
The one, who completes first, is going to be best.” Ganesha and Kartikeya
looked at each other. Devi Parvati continued, “Both of you must go for Prithvi
Pradakhina. (Complete one revolution around the earth). The one who completes
first is going to be the best.”
Without
wasting a single minute, Kartikeya immediately jumped on his Peacock and
started his journey.
Ganesha
thought for a while. He was quite sure it’s not possible to win the race by
sitting on his rat with his big tummy. While thinking a lightening thought
brought a sparkling smile on his face.
He
made Lord Shiva and Devi Parvati to sit on one Asana. He stood in front of
them, bowed down and completed the pradakshina around them.
Later
he said, “This is equivalent to Prithvi Pradakhina . The same is taught by
you.” Lord Shiva and Devi Parvati were quite impressed by the presence of mind
and smart act of their child.
After
a long time Kartikeya came back and was surprised to see Ganesha sitting next
to Devi Parvati.
So
in this way Lord Ganesha proved himself the best.
So
my dear students, what is the moral of this story.
Don’t
work only hard, work smartly.
Many
times whenever the task is assigned to you in school, most of you do the same
mistake. You all just jump on it and start your donkey work. Yes, I mean it.
Donkey never knows what is placed on his back. He just knows to walk.
So,
what can be done? Solution differs for each task, for each assignment.
Whether
it’s drawing diagrams, paper solving, subjects, writing, learning, etc.
Solution
varies as per the task.
But
there are few points which can be commonly applied.
1) Whenever you get any assignment, never start immediately the
very next moment. (Don’t even ignore it for long)
2) First think well, understand why this task is given. If you
are asked to solve paper, it’s to make you to practice and complete it in time.
3) Later, understand what exactly you are supposed to do.
4) What are the requirements?
5) How can you do it in the best way?
6) Fix the time limit to complete it.
7) Follow your plan till you complete your task.
Following
the above step won’t consume much time. Spending few minutes before you begun will
yield much better results.
So
we say Be a Smart Student.
Different
plans work for different tasks. This will be explained with the examples of
different situations the students face in school life.

Very well explained
